still on 1100+ ex but i do tend to go over most days by 100or200 but thats fine as im still eating less than a few weeks ago.
feel slimmer this week, especially around my tummy area. it feels dead trim and getting back to how i want it to feel and look.

im not sleeping right, i keep waking at 4am and cant get back off - thats sooo not like me :-(
Looking forward to carb loading on Friday and Saturday ready for the big day! illl do maintenance as a minimum on these days to bulk up engery wise before the race! i found it really helps my performance in 10K events at least, even if it doesnt help my waist line or bloated face!!!
thats all for now and ill blog on monday after my race - arghhhhhhh!

all is well, Day 13 of 56
missed blogging for days 9 - 12 but all is going well
Saturday i ate out for my lunch with family. chose a club sandwich, chicken and bacon, it came with chips. i was starving after my 11 mile run, without fuel (bad girl i know) but within two bites i was stuffed. i ate about 50% of the chips and 3 sandwiches and gave the forth away to my mum!
sunday was a DISASTER. I had a major blow out session all day long. i dont know why but it happened am im over it now. i logged every single calorie on WLR and i havent been clawing back the 3000ish cals but i have been lowering my fat all week to try and even it all out and doing a good job so far. fat percentage for week so far is 34% with one day left to claw back a little more!
off the top of my head i think i had about 120g of fat in one day - shocking i know!! but thats donuts, flapjack, toblerone 200g for you. BAD BAD STUFF.
MONDAY, then brought a new day and a line drawn under the badness. i felt crap in the monring because of my 'sugar hangover' but i reminded myself of my goal and even though i blew one day it didnt mean i had to blow the whole week =)
i looked at my food and planned three days ahead with very similar food each day. its gone sooo well so far and im feeling good right now three days after. this is the first week in ages ive felt like im on a diet, but thats good i feel as it means im not sneeking the odd bar of brown stuff in -just because ive ran 6 miles doesnt mean i can have a kitkat chunky!!
monday - weds have consisted of:
2 weetabix
ski yoghurt
oat bar
soup, bread roll
custard pot
jacket pot with beans (no cheese - get me being good!!)
oat bar
Day 13;
i bought some running tights today which are needed for my HM next week. They've got those high vis stripes on to help people spot me on my dark morning/evening runs and a VERY pink high vis long sleeved top - im gunna look soooooooo pretty in them. the tights are awful and my thighs are HUGE in them, the top fits nice and slightly loose to compensate on the extra tight bottom half!! ill be training in them tonight so might get OH to take a picture just so i can laugh at myself in them tomorrow when i load the picture LOL
GROSSSSS x

Day 8, weigh in
0.75lbs down, 0.5inch off wasit!
was hopeing more of a loss but a loss is a loss as they say! perhaps next weeks might be better? heres hopeing!!!!
nothing major to report today, walked to work and back as my exercise, 3 miles total.
slipped up at lunchtime as i was a bit peed off with my slow weight loss. was supposed to have covent garden soup and roll but had kitkat chuncky and double decker - WTF. why do i sabbotage myself???????????????????
well ive logged my food in diary and with tomorrows 11mile run im fine on calories just peed off with the amount of fat/crap i put into my body.
oh well, i did this last week and ended up comforting myself with a chinese, noodles and rice with sweet and sour sauce in the evening. but this week im making a yummy lasagne when i get in. that wil be tonights dinner and tomorrows as i make such a lovely big one. infact, ill take a picture of it and load it up on monday when im next at my computer.
anyway, im just rambelling now!!!!!!!
new 11 mile route to run tomorrow. ive been dreading it for days but right now im really looking forward to it. i wonder if its because ive promissed myself that im taking my mp3 with me to ease the pain!!
will log on monday exactly how my weekend pans out.
all good intensions though..............

Day 6, unmotivated at work
last night i went off the rails!!!!!!!!!!!!! not food wise, that was fine and delicious! i skipped a training session!!!!!!!!! that is soooooo not like me! and i didnt feel guilty and i still dont LOL :-p
had a lovely evening vegein on the sofa with my poochies but about 9pm i could tell Lily wanted to come over to me for a cuddle but she couldnt seem to pick herself up. i imediately knew something was wrong. i stood up and tried to persuade her over to me and she still wouldnt move. I panicked and didnt know what to do. so i picked her up (such a lump - 25KG ish) and placed her on the floor. her tail was wagging. more than usual actually. the then suddenly realised the sofa was wet. she'd wet herself. she still wouldnt move so i though my god, she's had a stroke or something. i ran Simon, my OH straight away, holding back the tears, and he came home from work straight away. Lily jumped to her feet imediately as soon as he entered the house and ran over to him - PHEWWWWWWWWWWW
this still doenst explain the sofa issue. i think she didnt move for me becuase she was paralized with fear, she thought she'd be told off for it perhaps? we adopted her 18 months ago and has issues with fear and is scared of raised voices and ladies that are about 50+ years old or people with sticks. anyway, she is right in the middle of a phantom pregnancy to i figure the wetness could also be milk. im not sure.
she slept fine last night, no wet bed and ate most of her breakfast. we'll see what she's like today and decided whether to take her to the vets.
hope she's ok. id be distraught if anything happened to her.... :-(
Didnt sleep that well because of worry for lily last night and the rain kept me up too.
feeling sleepy and slightly achy legs still from mondays road run.
Todays plan:
B 2 wholemeal toast, butter, orange juice
S muller rice
L wholemeal roll, ELF cheese spread
L 200g beans
S cadburys caramel
D 2 vege grills, cous cous
speed session training. last week burned 515 cals so hopefully tonight will be about the same.
really looking forward to it!

Day 5 - its going well so far
last nights club run went really well. opted for the 5 mile group which i knew were fast. kept up for 2 miles at about 8.4 m/m and then stuck with a lady a the back of the group. once we only had 1.5 miles to home i wanted to up my pace again so left the lady i was with and gave it my all!
a random hoody dressed all in black ran past me which took me by surpirse. i managed 5 miles 44 mins so am dead pleased with that especially with it being a monday evening, we all know how tired you can feel after your first day back at work after a lovely weekend!
stuck to my cals really well yesterday and am feeling a little trimmer today :-D
have had to have a little word with myself as i want to sneak onto the scales to see if ive had a loss but not allowing that until friday, my offical weigh in day just so (hopfully) i see a really good loss!!
not worked out food for today as yet. i know what id like, but im not running today and have worked out my gym membership ran out yesterday so i cant go and do weights. i dont have much money this month due to paying off our holiday with only one wage and my bonus being deducated from work (apparently having swine flu for 7 working days back in July means i dont deserve a bonus this month! bearing in mind ive not had 7 days off in the 6 years ive worked there).
anyway, ive got to come up with a workout plan from home tonight. am thinking something on the lines of a little circuit for myself.
perhaps:
60 second bursts
press-ups
abs
press-ups
abs
tri dips
abs
tri dips
abs
stretching lots, especially my calfs as they are a bit tight after my fast run yesterday.
= a fifteen minuite burst. not sure if thats enough or if i should tweek it. might ask on the boards of WLR later to see with others think/suggest...
Food for today: (1250 cals)
2 x wholemeal toast, butter
wispa
2 cracker things 26cals each
vege curry
muller rice
= 1172 cals
dinner:
pasta, chicken, pesto, onion, cheese = 700
Total = 1872
So need to burn 622 in my exersice session tonight - ummmmmm. we, shall, see!!!

Week 1 of 8, Day 1!
Friday Morning, Weigh In, supprised to see a gain. I feel bloated, heavey (muscle aches) and had tummy cramps last night so think it could be TOTM. i dont get it that often as the pill im on doesnt generally give me periods, however on occassion it surprises one on me!
So, 11stone 1.5, didnt measure myself this week but i will next week. took some pictures though :-( cant believe all this running and weights im doing isnt making a massive improvement. Its got to be my food is wrong. Im going to eat as healthy as i can this week. and ive made a brave decision to cut my cals down from 1400+ex to 1100+ex just as a one week trial to see what happens. perahps i might struggle. but if i find im grumpy or feeling really deprived ill up it to 1250+ex midweek if necessary.
Im happy with my body shape to be fair, i just want it a smaller verion with lean arms and back and legs if i can!
here are my pics:

8 WEEK CHALLENGE!!!!!!!
OK, no blogged for some time. kind of forgot really and was happy plodding along on my own with the help of WLR!
ive realised im 8 weeks (tomorrow) away from a fabulous holiday to the maldives and i DO NOT want to feel consious in my bikini or another other form of clothing on holiday.
10lbs in 8 weeks is my goal
Ive been working out really hard over the past few months, mainly focusing on running and weight training. recently indroduced swimming as id like to get stronger at that incase we decided to scuba dive on holiday! and i took a spin last class week which i really quite enjoyed as its been a few months since i done it.
i figure its totally got to be my diet thats wrong and not my exercise. i cant really change my exercise right now anyway as i have a half marathon in 25 days to complete and im generally doing about 20 miles running per week at the moment.
starting from weigh in tomorrow (friday) im going to make sure i have fruit and vege every day. a chocolate bar only 3 times per week (instead of 3 times per day LOL) and generally eat less fatty crap. good fats are fine obv but not the bad fats ive gotten stuck on recently.
ill also start listing on here my daily foods to i can really keep an eye on myself. infact im going to list todays food just to shock myself and prob you guys even more!!!:
3 weetabix, semi milk, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 pint orange juice
heinz ravioli, 10g cheese
dairy milk
chicken, lettice mayo granary bagette
malteasers
chicken, peppers, onions, olive oil
nesquik milkshake, semi milk
= 2200 cals, 1400+800ex. upper body weights, abs, then spin class + dog walk 1hour this am.
i need to switch my choc for nuts again and yoghurts and grapes. i just need to organise myself. tomorrow lunchtime i will stock up on good foods to have in my desk, ready to hand.
roll on tomorrow and the start of me becoming lean!!!

Count Down
I was checking my calendar today. Im surpirsed to find out the following:
1. only 4 weeks until my 2nd 10K
2. after that only 5 weeks until my 1st Half Marathon
3. and best of all, after that only 5 weeks until 2 weeks in the Maldives with my lover!!
SOOOOO excited about all these things. best of all the holiday!!!
The scary thing is that really isnt many weeks to get to a stone off. considering how slow my loss is going. perhaps ill tweek my food choices soon. eat more cleanly. am great at clean eating for snacks, evening meals and most breakfasts but i am having a bar of dairy milk every day recently out of habbit now i dont ever crave it.. oh well, ill see how weigh in and pictures go tomorrow - thats right its picture time - arghhhhhhh!!!
also, if anyone reads this i think i might of deleted the option for people to leave a comment (dont ask me how) if you have any ideas as to fix this problem id be very grateful. you can either leave a comment on a post below that allows it or mail me at clarerjones@gmail.com or im BIGBUM on WLR site. Thanks again.

my poochies!
Lily Snoopy
not alot to report today health and fitness wise. 2nd HIIT tonight and ill do some random heavy free weights tongight before the HIIT. not looking forward to it and will have to drag myself there - just not in the mood. i know i will be as soon as i put my MP3 player on though LOL
had lovely walk with dogs and OH last night, Snoop was very fast running and walking on her walk which was unusual. we thought she looked slimmer too so we weighed them both when we got home. Snoop has lost 2kgs in about four months!!! god knows how but its happened and Lily has gained over 3kgs. we are totally in shock! they get fed and walked exactly the same. Lily however is going through a phantom pregnancy at the moment. terrible for her. we want to get her spayed but its all about timing and of course money. she was booked into be spayed on friday but as she's showing signs of a phantom we dont want to mess with her head right now.
here are some pictures of them for you all to see!

oops - missed workouts!
sat HIIT - never happened
sun long run - also never happened
sat was due to lack of organisation. up early, well 8am, food shop, then clean house, mum came around 11am, went window shopping and lunch, home for 2.30, drop OH at his friends which is a good 40 mins there and back, then went to see my pregnant friend (not seen her in 3 weeks), then home to feed dogs at 6pm, then crash on sofa as i was soooooo tired! i did think of a HIIT session sat evening but my sofa was just too comfy!!
sundays excuss was a major bust up with OH. he didnt come home until 5.30am. i wasnt impressed. was woke at 2.30am and then i cant sleep until i know he's home safe. i did ring and chase him home but at 3am he said he'd be back in a min but at 5.30 or just before that he came home! - needless to say i was fumming and rowed with him from 9am - 12pm then i had to get the house sorted for visitors coming for a roast dinner. they didnt leave until 5pm and by that time i was soooo tired from only 2 hours sleep. i didnt even make my yoga class at 5.30. i under ate this day too. only ate my roast dinner and two crumpets with butter for an evening snack.
Monday: A better day so far. a killer 3 mile run, struggled with my breathing again. tried to push myself as i wanted a 27 min 3 miles as thats my fastest time so far so wanted to get that or beat it. i managed 27mins 32 secs so almost!!!! ill do another 'hard' run like that on friday morning before weigh in i think. ill concentrate on milage again for rest of the week as im down on my pledge on the runners board.
only done 20 miles out of 70 for august. having swine flu has put me back so im noting here what my plan of action is to regain some lost miles:
mon 3 miles+body pump
tues HIIT
weds 6 miles
thurs rest
fri 3 miles hard
sat not sure
sun - 10 miles
Equals 41 miles by Sundays run. So 29 miles to cram in in 8 days. thats gunna be tough next week!!

4lbs lost and vile running club!
**** ****
4lbs lost this week - wooop! thats just the gain had last week gone - phew! back on track and i WILL reach the 10's next week.
I WILL I WILL I WILL!!!!
**** ****
now onto fitness. my first session at a running club. well, it was torcher. absolute torcher.
i was in the 'slow' group. goodness only knows what the fast group was like. my group were like whippets. recon they must of done 7/8 min miles. im a 9/10 min mile girl on longer distances. needsless to say thay had to wait for me on occassions. i felt awful. i pushed myself to the max for the first 20 mins and stick with them or there abouts. but then i had to take my own pace. my HR was 185 constantly and i was weezing and coughing as my chest is still tight from the flu last week. i dropped back on pace and still never felt comfortable and HR still stayed higher than norm 177 usually about 165 when im comfortably podding along!
*** 6 miles, hilly, 57mins and 736 cals ***
im very put off running clubs now but i know not all of them out there are like this one. they were called amature atheletes - more like atheletes LOL
butt is aching like mad today and i never get butt ache so must of done me some good! also, i didnt sleep well last night at all. my legs were aching like mad all night long and my mind was racing. when i did get to sleep i drempt about running!
Yoga tonight - heres hopeing for a more relaxing experience!

Loving Yoga and new snack!
chargrilled vegs from M&S 235cals, 2.0fat, 8.0prot
well i eneded up doing a spin class followed by yoga last night instead of just yoga. long story short there was an 'accident' with a kitkat chunky so i wanted to burn that off!!!!
it's amazing, my spin class which was for 37mins (stopwatch on HRM) and 1 hour of Yoga earned me 820 cals.!!! Yoga was very strong last night. my poor old thighs got a right burning session out of it! legs are fine today but my lower and upper back aches slightly. i think it was from the camel posture. my back doesnt seem to like that one much! (bending over backwards from a kneeling possition to touch your heals with your head. - not that i could get my head down that far LOL)
ive had to be careful with food today. i have running club and need to be there at 6.30pm so straight from work. so ive had a massive baked potato with cheese and beans for lunch and i have my 'tea' to have at 5pm before i leave work and thats just a chargrilled vegetable flatbread which ive never had from m&s before.
im still nervous about my first run with the new running club but i shall report back tomorrow to log how i got on! i think its going to be TOUGH!! will try and take a picture of me after the run as i recon its going to be a funny red faced one LOL
also, its picture time again tomorrow. there wont be a weight loss to report and as far as i can tell no inchloss either, but ill take them anyway as i know other people get great changes/photos with little/no losses so there is still hope for me!

HIIT!
my first session of HIIT done! wow - what a killer! i only managed 15 mins total. walking at 6.0km and sprinting at 13km for 60 seconds each. i didnt feel i could do another set, perhaps i ran too fast? perhaps my legs still ached from sundays 9 mile run? i did hate looking at the time all the time but it did pass fairly quickly and my heart rate was at about 178 when i checked it. although i have got my heart rate higher than that before so maybe i wasnt working as hard as i could?? not sure....
all i know is next time I WILL make that full 20 mins. just to prove to myself that i can! once ive done maybe 2 sessions at those paces i will tweek them a bit, perhaps jog instead of walk or up the sprinting and still walk inbetween.
yoga tonight and then dreaded new running club thursday night!!!

back after the dreaded swine flu!
30/7 - 07/08 = off work sick with swine flu. ate and ate and ate whilst at home. i was starving all the time. ate lots of white bread, well a loaf within 7 days and a chocolate bar every day. it made me feel better honest. I weighed myself on the friday after 7 days of slobbing about and had gained a whopping 4lbs 3/4. i was shocked. i presume its not a true weight gain as i ate 2000cals per day without exercise so expected a possible slight gain.
never mind. today, tuesday is the first day back on track. well, actually sunday was a good day cals and exercise wise. i did my first run in 11or12 days and did NINE MILES!! was very chuffed with myself. i just did the same three mile loop three times over. it really worked for me. i loved every second apart from the first 3 miles - they were a killer!!
1150 cals earned and ate with a few banked and will go unused due to the massive gain!
i've decided today that im going to start HIIT training once or twice a week. my first one is tonight. will set the machine for 20 mins. walk at 6.0km and sprint at 13k for 60 seconds each. ill then do ab work and will massage the achy muscles on the powerplate!
also, i started Hatha Yoga - done two classes so far and i was suprised to see i burned 340 cals in a hour. i did get very hot and sweaty at times. am pleased i have my HRM to calculate it for me!
also, my friend has talked me into a running club. she started last week and my first session is on thursday evening. im scared stiff. apparently they are all super skinny and super fit. im going to look like a right fat pig next to them. just hope i can keep up and not show myself up!!!
MY NEW ROUTINE for the next 4 weeks:
MON -REST
TUES -HIIT + abs + powerplate
WEDS - yoga or circuits or rest
THURS - running club 5/6 miles ish
FRI - HIIT + yoga
SAT - circuit training or spin or rest
SUN- minimum 9 mile run + yoga

ouch (still!)
3 miler done this am. took it easy. had to drag myself out of bed kicking and screaming. i didnt want to go out and do it at all. this vile weather these past few weeks have been really getting me down with my running. am thinking of introducing a couple of gym runs in per week just to get out of this vile weather and so i can run without a massive rain coat on - its a small size but way to big on me :o( ill take a pic actually for this bog - i look stupid in it LOL
my calfs were pulling slightly throughout and as a result my time was:
3 miles, 30mins 30seconds. not dredfully slow but a good minute per mile down compaired to last week!
rest day tomorrow (YES!) and back on it friday am, sat and sunday with another rest on monday - hurrah!!
im a hungry bunny today. food as planned:
porridge
2 crumpets + butter
6 brzail nuts
vege curry
muller rice (havnet had one in months - sooo looking forward to it!)
chicken, peppers, onions, oilve oil, fijita mix
nesquik milkshake
Cals = 1858
Under cals by = 127

OUCH
i have calf ache today! i always suffer with calf pain when doing Body Attack. they cant seem to cope with that ontop of my running!
Sundays run had to be cut short by 2 miles as the route id planned was unsuitable. there were no pavements for me to run along and dangerous Z roads zig zagging along country roads - oooops!
never mind, i got some milage on the legs and still did a 5 miler, 600 cal run. altough i could of done with the next 200 ish cals that the longer run would of burned due to having a slight 'accident' with a chocolate and vanilla tescos cheese cake on sunday evening after my run annd after my big night out the day before. i think i may possibly be over on cals this week by approx 1000 and i havnet done that in months so am feeling a little bit lost. im thinking of clawing 300 back today and tomorrow and wednesday IF i can and IF i cant then what the hell, its only one bad week in the grand scheme of things. im so much more relaxed about my food and exerscie since holiday and i feel healthier for it. i dont like gettting obesssive or negagive towards things so i think its good. well, i say that, just wait until weigh-in day on friday - arghhhhh!!
im going to log each day this week more info on my workouts.
MONDAY BODY ATTACK: 52 mins, 450 cals
I found the class boring, the instructor boring and my HRM told me we'd only worked out for 52 mins so she must of stipped a track???? as i dont do that class often i dont know but i do know i wont do it for a while again. the lady that instructs it is just SUCH a bore. im going to schedual in a combat class next tuesday instead. my calves began to kill me after about 4/5 tracks and are alittle tender the following day. on the plus side i can feel my outter thigh/butt has been worked - GOOD TIMES! OH and the abs track i found hard. also, whats with all the tricep pushups??????????

Delighted!
WEIGH-IN TODAY....
2 1/4 OFF
my biggest loss so far!
things i done different this week:
* ate 100 cals more a day so 1500 + ex
* ate chocolate three days on the trot
* ate potatoes and cheese twice
* no heavey weight sessions at all, just running and circuit training (so light ish weights 5kg per arm)
im going to stick to 1500+ex this week but try not to have the chocolate as much as i find the more i have the more i want and i dont want to be relying on it again and only going for a run to burn the bad stuff off if that make sence.
i have a hen weekend tomorrow and will be fairly good whist im there. ill defo make the correct food choices in the restaurant and am going to allow myself 500cals on booze so about 6 vodkas and then im done. im looking forward to the hotel breakfast the following morning and again i know ill be good as i have a 7 mile run that afternoon so dont want anything heavy on my stomach so ill prob choose some porrdige, fruit and i might have a croissant if they have any. actually ill definately be having a croissant - ROLL ON SUNDAY MORNING. never mind the hen night, roll on the croissant dribble dribble LOL
Whilst i remember my 3 miler today was tough, heavy led legs in the last mile. but enjoyable other than that. i didnt have my music on today as i couldnt find my mp3! 29mins 45 secs

naughty me..
.. well i havent blogged since my 'emotional' day on tuesday!
i didnt really turn to the chocolate like i used to and thought i would. although it might sound bad to some i had 2 rice crispie squares bars and a dairy milk. it really hit the spot, i didnt feel guilty at all either which is what used to lead to more binging/pigging out!
i got home that evening and my chicken that i took out of the freezer wasnt defrosted. it nearly tipped me over the edge but i stuck my trainers on and took my anger out on the pavements. and it got me a record breaking 3 mile run in 26 mins - whoooopp!!! i wont be aiming for that on every 3miler but it'll do once a week! i had fish fingers that night instead!
WEDNESDAY 22nd July.
was another emotional day, basically the tilers are still in doing our floor, house is a mess, dogs cant walk on the floor so have to carry them out and walk them each time they need the loo etc - sooo annoying but the end is in sight. after a terrible row with OH i went out to work thinking of chocolate again. lunchtime came and i had another dairy milk, just one and it hit the spot and no cravings etc to have anymore. sorted! got home that evening and me and OH made up!! i dropped him at work an then went circuit training. havent done that in weeks and boy did i miss it! im now going ensure every wednesday i schedual as a circuit training night at least for the next month and see how the weightloss/inch loss is going.
TODAY 23RD JULY
feeling churpy today and looking forward to my new three mile route this evening before tea. im having egg chips and beans tonight - soooooooo looking forward to it. dribble dribble! i accidentally had a sneaky peak at the scales last night and they've gone down since last week so fingers crossed for tomorrow.....i feel i may of lost an inch or so this week, tummy has gone down and legs look better but im not going to measure as i vowed to do it every four weeks so ill wait another week or two and should then have some fabulous results to report!
only 4 weeks until i need to do picutre updates - really need to pull my finger out of my arse and eat a bit cleaner really....

huffffff...
im having a stressed and i need chocolate day :-(
havent had one of these in ages. im wondering if its something to do with my higher carb day yesterday???
long story short. fitted kitchen installed this time last year. final job to complete was tiling the floor. we havnet had the money for this until now due to my boyfriend either spending the saveings, me booking holidays etc etc. well today is the day it gets done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im very excited but feel stressed out too. all appliances etc have to be moved out of the dining room, kitchen and hall way. 30square meters in total so alot of tiles hanging around the house waiting to be used. i have no idea if ill have a cooker to cook my tea tonight and the microwave broke last month and we havent bothered to replace it as yet...
dogs couldnt go in the garden this am due to not being able to walk on the cleaned and de-greased floor so i had to walk them in the rain which they and i hate. they are in the living room all day today which is a treat for them as they are usually in the hall under the stairs. im worried Snoop might need a number 2 whilst in there as she didnt have one this am!!! arghhhh
Mr Bigbum is in bed trying to sleep as he's on nights this week so i just know when i get home this evening he will either be high as a kite as he'll be impressed with the floor or he'll be miserable as sin because he couldnt sleep because of the noise!
the weather is dull and depressing and i could honestly of grabbed for some chocolate at 9am had it of been nearby.
also, i have no idea when i can do my run today. i would usually get home an go straight out but the tiler might be there and i might need to chat to him etc first. plus my kit needs ironing and the iron and board have been barricaded in with all the tables, chairs etc in our back room.
now im making excuses and its SOOOOOOOO not like me.
lunchtime in a minute. i hope i dont binge, this is what i used to do when feeling like this. im allowing myself 1 rice krispies square bar as my treat to get me through my stresed out mood, but im also thinking of a dairy milk - arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ill update later and log how i got on....

Week 2 HM training
i really enjoyed getting back into the swing of things last week. i did all my runs as planned but didnt really enjoy them. it poored with rain on thursdays run and again on sundays run. my trainers from thursday took 3 days to dry LOL
my six miler yesterday went smoothly as and usual my last two miles flew by and i had my running legs so i felt i could of gone on for a few more miles but i stopped myself as i dont want to overdo things and stick religiously to my plan!
i ate a fair bit yesterday but i did have 2200 cals to consume. LOVELY!!!! had things like:
porridge,
eggs, beans, toast,

BOOOOOOOO
well, weigh-in day today. i gained 1 3/4lbs in two weeks.
im slightly shocked but not dissapointed as i know how to loose the weight. eat right, train hard and it will happen!
today is friday so a fresh start.
todays food is yummy especially my chicken chassur and vege tonight - yummmmm
my run last night was WET WET WET. it was raining fairly hard when i left the house but it got progressively worse as the minutes went by! by the time i got home i was soaked through to my nickers LOL i stripped off as soon as i got through the front door, the dogs came over to me in their usual excitable way but soon ran away from me when i dripped all over them - they hate water! snoopy ran off with a wet sock too which she thoroughly enjoyed sucking on for five mins or so - very gross i know!!!
Stats for today:
Carbohydrate (44.4%)
Protein (27.3%)
Fat (28.4%)
Alcohol (0%)
1750 cals, 1400 + 300 from walking to and from work - used HRM
really looking forward to the cimena tonight and spending time with my boyfriend (hes been on nights all week and i was away last week so 2 weeks without seeing each other properly!)
i have 9 miles to run over this weekend, one 3 miler and one 6 miler. i never usually run on consecutive days but my training plan from ironbridge runner says to do this so ill give it a shot. if i find on monday my legs are battered i might change my saturday shorter run to a day in the week, possible a friday monring before weigh-in. we shall see....

im sooo tired today. ibiza is becoming a distant memory but the effects of little sleep over 7 days is still on going!
i thought i was having a higher carb day today as im having pasta for lunch. i have a run this evening and have planed to have carb based lunches and protein based dinners on days that i train. however, my stats below reflect a different story. my high fat content is from some pesto, olive oil and a little cheese that im eating so not too bothered that the figure is too high just for one day (and its all good fats right!?!):
Percent Calories From:
Carbohydrate (32.5%)
Protein (27.8%)
Fat (39.7%)
Alcohol (0%)
EDIT: (changed my lunch from pasta to a potato and beans as i didnt fancy my pasta in the end!)
Percent Calories From:
Carbohydrate (43.1%)
Protein (26.4%)
Fat (30.5%)
Alcohol (0%)
im really looking forward to my run tonight however i need to go onto mapmyrun.com soon and plan out some different routes as my three mile route is getting quite tedious!
i have a new dance albem to listen to night which im really looking forward to listening to! i love to run to new music every few weeks - it keeps me going and often makes me faster - result!
im off to the cinema tomorrow night to watch the new bruno movie and im planning on treating myself to a strawberry cornetto - at only 180 cals i think its worth it and as simon will be sat there with a BIG bag of M&M's i need something to keep my mind off those. luckily he'll polish them off within 15 mins so i wont have to be dribbling over them for hours whilst watching the movie!
feeling bloated today but i have had cheesy beans on toast for my last two lunches this week which i know is the culprit! ill have it occasionally but twice in a row was a bit much for my poor tummy - its huge today LOL
weigh-in tomorrow - arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Back from Hols!
i had a ball in ibiza! danced all night and lazyed around catching some rays during the day. only downside was the lack of sleep and im paying for it now!!!
my food out there was delicious. lots of grilled chicken with salad and fijitas (without all the wraps and sour cream etc). i have to say it was sooo easy making healthy food choices out there. i had a few baked potatoes with cheese too which were just yummy!
each day id have an ice cream for my lunch too but i didnt feel once that id over ate or been really bad so im very pleased with myself! im hoping on my friday weigh in that i havent acutally done any damage or maybe even lost half a pound maybe!?! we shall see!
right, from today and every week day from now on i pledge to log my intake of carbs etc for the day. so here is todays log:
Percent Calories From:
Carbohydrate (44.3%)
Protein (21.9%)
Fat (33.8%)
Alcohol (0%)
No exercise planned for today as im sticking religiously to my 16 week beginners half marathon training plan, courtisy of IRONBRIDGERUNNER.COM i will add some more weight into the programme but my arms have really bulked and its very noticeable in my holiday pictures so im giving them a rest for a few weeks until ive burned some more fat.
This weeks workouts are as follows:
M - spin + leg weights
T - 3 mile run
W - rest
T - 3 mile run + leg weights
F - rest
S - 3 mile run
S - 6 mile run

weigh-in today. i stayed the same. a little bit dissapointed but not going to let it get me down.
i measured myself today and i've lost 1inch from under my bust so im pleased with that! i thought my back looked less porky in my pictures yesterday which is why i remembered to measure there this morning.
ive been finding im measuring myself each friday and ive not been getting any changes for 3 weeks or so. so as its a new week starting from today and as im on holiday from tomorrow i can no long daily weigh (bad i know) but im starting a fresh. only weighing on a Friday am and only measuring every 3 weeks.
according to my WLR fat percentage (not sure how accurate this is) but im 0.9% away from being in the normal fat percentace range.
am currently 33.9% - i was a shocking 38.9% in Jan 09!
ive still no idea what weight i want to be ideally or what fat percentage id like to be.
im giving myself a goal though of 8lbs off before my next 10K race on 20/09/09 - thats 10 weeks after holiday - i do hope this is doable ! i recon it will help improve my time in the race too having less podge to carry around!
im in holiday mode as of this morning, just one day left at work and thats me done for NINE WHOLE DAYS! WHOOP!!!!
exercise on holiday will include:
walking
swimming
tennis
dancing
lifting cocktails and
crawling home at stupid o'clock in the morning!
im dreaing my first run back after holiday, think ill keep it to a short 3 miler and not worry about my time for a week or two until my fitness is back!
one last body blitz tomorrow morning of circuit training and weights session after then home to clean the house, have a power nap and then off to the airport for me!

HOLIDAY COUNT DOWN
well, its now 4 days until i leave for Ibiza.
Im still very consious about getting into a bikini, especially with my vile legs! ive worked out as hard as i could these past few months and ate as well as i could.
i really wish i could of been comfortably within the next stone mark for it as it would of just gave me that extra little boost. you never know though, my weigh in on friday could suprise me. i'd love to loose over 1lb this week!
im planning on eating right on holiday - there's NO WAY im coming back 2/3lbs heavier, ive worked bloody hard these past four weeks to go piling it all back on!.
Right i've upped some of my weights so i need to log it so i dont forget:

WHOOP WHOOP!!!!!!!!!!
I completed my FIRST ever Race for Life 10K on Sunday.
It was a muggy day and the course was hard. It was around Hartpury College Gloucester and it involved lots and lots of hills, potholes, long grass and stoney paths!
Battled through the pain and managed a decent time of 57.03.3! VERY please with myself.
Next up - Glos City 10K, 20th September. Im going to challange myself to get a 52 min 10K as ill be in full training for a half marathon by then and I should be the fittest of my life by this point! Fingers crossed ill have shed at least 7/10lbs by this point so should feel the benefits of weight loss helping me around the course.
14th July is when the hard training begins. Just 16 weeks before my first ever half marathon. Its going to be a killer getting back into training from a week of partying on Ibiza!!!!

my first blog
not quite sure what to write...
having read others blogs i decided i would write one myself to help me on my mission of training for a half marathon.
ive always been very sporty and always loved working out. i never quite got my diet right to keep my body in the best shape possible therefore when i joined WLR in Janurary I vowed to myself that this was it and i am going to get the body i want and deserve.
After several weeks doing spin classes, circuit training and even body pump i thought i'd try running. On 20/03/09 i went for my first 2 mile run and i was hooked!
got my first pair of running trainers and socks and there was no stopping me!
after several weeks running approx 15 mile per week (3/3/3/6) i am due to run my first ever 10K race and am VERY nervous about it! i think its just the thought of my family and boyfriend are acutually going to be there to watch - arghhhh! im extreemly competitive too and if i dont get a 'good' time ill be really dissapointed in myself.
im hoping to complete the course in under 60 mins - 55 mins ideally! (9 min miles)
thats it for now but i will try and update each day....
